i take a single pic (with a kodak c140), get it into the kodak 'easy share' program in my pc OK, then email it to photobucket (free account)-which takes a LOOOONNNGGG time, 10, 20,+ mins...
should it take that long?
am i doing something wrong?

Guessing here: Sounds like your sending the original file (very large file of 3-5mb) and have a slowish connection. Also I don't understand your term of saying your emailing it? Are you actually emailing it or do you mean uploading it?
If you are sending a file that large with a 'fast' connection it would take about 10-20 seconds. My photobucket files are usually only 60-80k in size and take 1-2 seconds. I'll upload a large file and tell you how long it takes me.
What I think you need to do is get a program to make the file size smaller but preserve the screen quality of the photo. Easy and freeware.

I just uploaded a 2.94mb photo to Photobucket and it took 18 seconds. The same photo at 84k (you wouldn't notice any difference in screen quality since when you upload photo's to Photobucket your photo is reduced in physical size and file size, of your choice, anyways) was almost instant in uploading but the connection took 1-2 seconds to be established.

hi. thanks for responding.
i'm paying for a comcast supposedly high speed connection but who knows?
the 'easy share' program has an 'email' option to send pic(s) from pc to photobucket, which i use. it's what takes so long. doen't make sense.
just sent a single pic to the 'rock' listening thread here at TH. took a half hour to get from pc to photobucket!*fit*
from photobucket to a forum is no problem.

I have a Comcast 6mbps connection myself.. and like it! Try this: log on your Photobucket account, click on 'my albums' on the menu bar on top. Then right below you'll see 'albums and upload'... click on it. You'll then see a box with "upload pictures and video"... click on 'choose'... then find a the same photo you used with the "easy share" program and see how long it takes...... I won't go on a tangent but will say this: I usually don't recommend using the software that comes with ANY camera.

i can get them now from camera to pc but they go to the 'easy share' program in my pc.
don't know how to get them anywhere else in the pc.
sorry to be so clueless.
no manual came with this pc so i'm guessing (and getting help-thank you very much!) my way thru everything.
probably should buy a manual.

Many ways, really. Drag and drop, cut and paste and copy and paste are basic ways. Either the whole folder at once, one at a time or selected ones to move as a group.

so i guess i need to know how to get pics from the 'easy share' program in my pc to a different place in the memory of my pc.
but where do i put a pic (or pics) them?
and how do i get them there?
i'm a guy who just had 'copy and paste' basics explained to him about 2 months ago and i'm still learning how to use it.
not quite sure what 'drag and drop' is. edit-just looked it up on google, i think i might have done it before.

testing 1,2,3.
practicing with pics.
this is my temporary 84" movie screen for use with blu rays, hd dvds, and dvds.
i had to put r2rs in front of where screen used to be.
looks hoaky, but works well.

just fixed whatever i did last night to lose posting ability. went to 'attachments' option in the user CP, clicked on one of my pics there, found where i had clicked on 'block images to TH', clicked it OFF and all is well again.
projector is a 5 year old panasonic ptl500 (hi def LCD).
not a single issue with it.
black levels aren't as low as they could be but puts out an otherwise excellent picture.
also, i moved teac a-6300 over to main a/v rack so i can record with it. maybe tonight or tomorrow.
ps-what is 'dope dude'?*?confused*

Glad ya got it figured out (the pic thing) on the ps; a simple case of a missing comma, as in 'that's Dope, (cool, wicked nice, etc) dude :)
Nice to know that someone pays attention to me, unlike others here.....
