Anyone ever see one of these before? Who makes them? Are they any good? Weird.

I heard they were pretty crappy, sort of "Soundesign/Yorx" type of quality..."Nothing here of any audiophile quality...move along...nothing to see here...move along" Rob

That's what I figured, but interesting none the less.

Beware, the tape IS NOT standard, is 1/8", the same as the used in cassette.

I think they were very inexpensive when new.

Yes pretty sad quality.
I laugh when I read the specs, tape moves at 4.75 cm/second (1 7/8 ips)

So basically this is a standard tape recorder, except on reels.
Worthless.

Yes I remember when these first came out. What a real piece of crap that is.
It figures that when a company has an idea to bring back a vintage piece of
equipment they choose to make it like this. Companies out there could make a
decent R2R if they wanted to.

is the quality of this machine as good as what it claims, i heard it was made by RCA not saying that RCA is bad, but combining a CD player with a reel to reel, i find that weird. i could see them combing a reel to reel with a turntable, but a cd player. i must say the quality though is crap.

It could've been nice.
A simple cassettedeck with a simple ferro tape can sound pretty good.
I wonder how they managed to make it sound this bad.
