Got here about 10 am, via ups. cleaned it up a bit, plugged it in, loaded a tape on, and it works and sounds great!
seems a bit more solidly built than my 4 akais.
you'll notice 'snowy' taking a snooze there.

Good lookin' deck and kitty. *Hi5* I really like the 6300 along with the 3300's.... classic looks. I've never had any Akia's.. just Teac's and Pioneers. Those Teac's are built tank like for sure.

My picture says it all Great Deck as for being built like a tank I can attest to mine took a hit in shipping which cost me the plastic cover a f--- up the wood side panel which I replaced but it checked out to be electronically perfect

Good going Westgate;
I have been getting a number of these myself as it is one to last. It has autoreverse like the X1000, 2000R but not bidirectional record. However, the good news is the AC motors used in that deck if oiled will go a lot of years. Out of the many decks I have come to work on the A6300 seems to be one of my favorites. It is like a larger A4300SX which only takes 7" reels.*check*

thanks! glad to hear it's 'one to last'.
re bi-direcording, i don't plan on doing a lot of recording with it; mainly for playback with the auto reverse.

The bi directional recording is only useful when you want to do some unattended recording, like to record a entire tape from radio. In all other cases, for me is unuseful.
