.... and some days you're the windshield. Today is a windshield day. Walked into my local sell-anything-electronic junkmart whose normal business is selling unlocked cell phones to cruise ship crewmembers from WestPac countries. Gotta admit he does a good business. Anyway, saw this squirreled away on a shelf amidst some Sony CD-it 74's looking lost, forlorn, and dusty. It's now safe, home with somebody who cares (Me!!!), and is mine, mine, mine .....
It was marked $34.50. I didn't pay that, I paid less. Insanely less. Obscenely less. *Hi5* Still in original shrinkwrap. I may have to build a museum around this thing ....

I hate You.*fit*
Those are my preferred tapes.
Always sounded good on any machine I played them on.
Take care of them.
They are meant to be played.

Those are my preferred tapes.
It's nice to be loved .....:D
Anyway, it poses a dilema.... it looks too nice to open, so they may not get used. If I don't use them, why did I buy them? I'm not much of a sit and look at them kinda guy, I'm a tapehead thru and thru. But to open what may be the last original package ever ..... *headache*

If somebody has some opened and unused samples I think they would work out something with you.
To the right person those are worth something.
Of course I'm a heathen , I would just open them and start taping.*reelspin*

It,s a tough call I suppose if I knew for sure it was the only one left I,d be tempted to squirrel it away

And you stocked up, right? :D
I'd be open to trades or swaps in this instance. It would solve my moral dilema *headache*

HA! I wish! Little did I know back then those great cassettes would no longer be made. If I found a genie in a bottle & was granted 3 wishes, one of them would be that all the stores I shopped for blank cassettes & audio equipment back in 1993 would still be open with the same selection of merchandise they had back then.

Whoah! Lucky you! I'll tell you what, just send them my way to avoid the whole conflict of whether or not to open them, I've been looking for some XLII-S anyway.
Seriously, open those things up and use them. IMO they shouldn't remain sealed, they should be enjoyed for the wonderful sound they'll produce.

*Spin*:-)<---smokin--
Matt gets to look at that every day! I already have one. Feast your eyes on the attached! I have the best of both worlds here: I have a sealed one *AND* an open, empty wood crate plus a handful of the same tapes to use.
GREAT score bro!

The funny thing is the guy who sold them probably went home and told the wife " got rid of the dusty old tapes in the wood box today", she "oh, really dear, watcha get for them"? He "just enough for dinner", sound of bag with regular cheeseburgers and fries "plop", she "no drinks then"? He " that feller was a tough ol' coot"! She "sigh".

Well, they're up for barter in the classifieds. I have quite a bit of XLII-S already on hand, so I thought I'd seek trades. Mind you I'm not in the Des-arena, but I have enough already for my own use. Someday I'll regret saying that, but today might be somebodies lucky day.

Oops.
Didn't mean to rain on anyones parade or steal any thunder. Great. Now I feel bad. I hope you aren't fixin' to offload them simply because *I* already have it. You seemed so happy to get them.
If it's any consolation, my search and ongoing acquisitions of tape is essentially at a standstill. So what I have is what I have. Unless something almost literally falls out of the sky and into my lap, don't look to see me hunting or buying any more.

No, don't worry. Just joking in all of the above. It's more of the issues of I didn't want to open them, but if I wasn't going to use them, then why have them? So I bartered for some stuff I will use, and I think everybody wins.
