Ok, while listening to some old live Black Sabbath... I had a fond flashback of the old days of pissing my neighbors off, stereo wars, etc. So I figured I would start a new thread here to get everyone's top 5 songs that are good for waking up the neighborhood, cranking the volume to 11, shattering eardrums, all that. Here's mine.

1. Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water (oh yeah... the good ole standin... who won't hear that familiar riff and crack a smile?)

2. Black Sabbath - E5150/Mob Rules (good for Jehovah's Witness congregations while they're trolling door to door)

3. Rush - YYZ (Exit, Stage Left LIVE version. With the traditional Neil-Jam-Drum-Solo thrown in)

4. AC/DC - Let There Be Rock (The intensity of this tune is just... well... intense.)

5. Slayer - South of Heaven (see #2 above)

I'll have to think of 5 tracks, but in the meantime I'll suggest Ted Nugent's album "Scream Dream". Especially the title track and the immortal "Wango Tango".

playing some bands music over a stereo loud enough to wake anyone up doesn't even count.
ya gotta play an electric instrument in a rock band with a multi-thousand watt pa system to do it right*jammin**jammin**jammin*!

worked for me summer of '77 'til a neighbor showed up with a shotgun. 1st time he didn't get too nasty, 2nd time, he did.
just threats but whilst while holding a shotgun said threats carry a little weight.

anyway, after that, i learned to respect all my neighbors desires for relative quiet. and i now prefer it that way myself.
we got off easy.

i hope the op of this thread doesn't push it too far.*shoot**whip**whipslap**bash*

AC/DC ~ Hell's Bells ..... t'ain't nothing like those bells ringing and echoing thru the 'hood.

Black Sabbath ~ Heaven and Hell

UFO ~ Love to Love/Electric Phase .... almost Mike Oldfield "Tubular Bells"-like, very nice, very loud

The Outlaws ~ Green Grass and High Tides.... builds so nicely....

Horn Test ~ one weekend I was actually working on fixing the dual horns on my Ram truck. Ain't nothing annoy a 'hood like a guy periodically testing truck horns.....

Not really a tune but starting up the RC51 early in the morning really shits the neighbors. So much so that I now leave it at work which is in a semi Industrial area.

Does a cracked toilet tank account for "waking up the neibours"? If so, Billy Idol - "Catch my fall" (Vital Idol ext. mix)

5- Deep Purple: Highway Star
4- Wagner: Ride of the Valkyries
3- Saint-Saens: Organ Symphony
2- ELP: The old Castle/Blues Variation from Pictures at an Exhibition
1- Me, playing Puttin' on the Ritz with the Hammond, the piano, and the synth at real high volume.

I'm the only one on my block with Klipsch speakers. If this keeps up, I'll be the only one on my block...

In the Lou Reed vein... Pat Methenys 'Zero Tolerance for Silence' has been compared to it.

Billy Thorpe - Children of the Sun

Led Zepplin - Immigrant Song

Guns N Roses - Welcome to the Jungle

Van Halen - Runnin' with the Devil.

Cheap Trick - Gonna Raise Hell

That should get the neighborhood block party started.
