For those of you who are looking for bit of "cheeky" fun and are or will be in SoCal this coming Saturday, get down to Laguna Beach for the 29th annual "Amtrak Moon".

This is an annual Orange County ritual in which hundreds and hundreds of people gather around on the beach near a dive bar and the railroad tracks and drop their pants to "moon" every train that goes by. On these tracks, it's the Amtrak and Metrolink passenger trains. I've never done it before and so this will be my first time. I will definitely be there. Am trying to convince the wife to come along but she's not too keen on the idea.

Trains are also expected to be booked solid just for the run bys to see the "lunar" show.

I'll be sure to post pictures Saturday night.

Also shown are two pictures of the trains. Both were taken by by me at Orange, not far from where I live. These are the same tracks that the mooning will take place on, but that's about 20 miles south of here.

-or "Bad Moon Rising" by CCR. Perhaps "Wishing On A Moon" by Dan Fogelberg might be more appropos.

-If not "Sisters Of The Moon" by Fleetwood Mac.

Sorry, I beg to differ with you, It's been happening since there were trains running, lets say 150 + years now, and, I bet cavemen and cavewomans did it long before Adam did it to Eve. It's totally harmless, I did it back in Dallas, You can't get Near a track on Long Island *eyepop*. In England, Prince Charles and Selena Scott can't even get a ticket!

I heard rumors that when the new lightweight train cars came out Amtrack had to put weights on the opposite side of the cars to keep them from toppling off the tracks with the 100's of folks with camera's all taking Pics of the moonies:-oo:-oo:-)<-

I just *butt* the cat, just cuz I can, he's not amused

Well FWIW, I didn't make it due to some work around the house (and a wife not feeling very good) which is just as well because I later heard that it got way too out of hand and the police ended up breaking it up. Glad I wasn't a part of that circus.
