My wife and I went to the Seal concert in St.Pete last night...
Wow! What a blast. We had a great time and Seal really puts on a great show. He has a great on stage presence and really interacted with the audience. It was money well spent.
At one point he stopped the concert and got the entire audience to sing Happy Birtday to a nanny traveling with his family while on tour. And this one guy in the front row wearing a Ferrari racing shirt was obnoxiously pestering him for his autograph and distracting him... Seal paused the concert again and made a bit of a joke out of it telling the guy "I have three kids, so I have a lot of patience, but you can't be doing that at a concert, man!" but he then said "since you probably paid quite a bit for that front row ticket and it means that much to you... I'll stop the concert for all these people, be a good sport and go ahead and give you an autograph!" He then got the guy's name, got a sharpie and some paper from the stage hands and signed an autograph to Quentin... (yea, like Tarantino)
The new album is really kind of mellow for him and I was really hoping to hear more of his old stuff. But, when he's up there singin live, those songs came across much, much more powerful.
Oh, and acoustically, the Mahaffey theather is a fantastic venue. We were sitting right behind the soundboard and it was PERFECT! Probably one of the best sounding concerts I've ever heard.
If he's coming your way, go to the show. If you like his music even just a little bit, I promise you won't regret it.
I attached some pics.
