According to my calculations the moon rises in 15 minutes there in Juneau at 7:36 AKDT. I wish I was there with your scenery for a couple of hours and a moonrise to take some photo's!!

Thanks... just a Nikon D50.. what makes the shot is the lens... a 70-300mm Nikkor f4.5-5.6 with there VR (vibration reduction). Which with the crop factor makes the lens at 300mm = to a 450mm lens on a 35mm camera.

I sent those moon photo's to the U of Mich Weather Underground (as I do other wx photo's) and am proud to say I just found out that the first one (good call BlazeES*Hi5*) won an "Approver's Choice".... my forth!! You can see it here (http://www.wunderground.com/wximage/viewsingleimage.html?mode=singleimage&handle=Acouostic&number=71&album_id=34&thumbstart=0&gallery=EDITORSPICK#slideanchor) and browse the category of Approver's Choice here (http://www.wunderground.com/wximage/viewimages.html?gallery=EDITORSPICK).... depending on how many Approver's Choice pictures are in the upcoming days, it usually stays on the front page for 4-5 days. Time to pour another tall one.... iced tea w/lemon, that is!*grin*

Sure will (you might regret asking me!!*devil*). Camera is a Nikon D50 I got in Dec 2006... as you can see it still is a well respected camera in the photo world selling used for what I paid for it new then ($385) and what people are asking for it now new. I got it with the stock lens shown on the Amazon capture. What made the shot is the lens (description attached also) and a sturdy but lightweight tripod to carry when walking and a remote control shutter release. Also attached is the exif info for the pic. The only thing I would have changed that I forgot to in this shot is I would have not had the white balance on 'auto' I do keep it on for the most part but forgot to shut it off for these pictures... but that didn't matter for the end result. Photoshop did. *grin*

Thanks Dude!
No regrets. I'm considering investing in an advanced camera and this gives me a basis for comparison.
*thumbsup*
I'm thoroughly impressed!
