Dunno how many still use 8-Tracks, but thought this would be a must-grab....
Not mine, no affiliation, not bidding myself, etc ....

Welll....those are "ok" tapes....I'd rather have TDK's or Maxell's myself...wait a minute....I DO have some of those, even a few that can be recorded on a 4-channel deck, you know the one's with the little notch on the top left corner of the cartridge.I also have these cool blank carts that are clear plastic!! Hey Rob! Welcome! I just don't know (since I don't follow them) how often NOS unwrapped 8-track blanks surface these days. I have a couple of used Memorex60's that I purchased from a thrift as one of those dunno-what-I'll-do-with-it, but-gotta-have-it purchases. Maybe someday I'll find a decent 8-track deck up here.

Actually they show up on ebay fairly regularly. I bought 2 sealed Maxell UD 8T-90 tapes at a recent record show. I got them for a dollar a piece. I opened one and the pad didn't have much life left in it. I haven't got my 8-track deck back yet so I can't tell you how well they sound yet. I plan on recording cd's onto them. I know prerecorded Ampex tapes are notorious for melted pinch rollers but I'm not sure about the blanks.

More than likely, you'll need to re-foam/pad any blanks you find NOS (or used for that case),and possibly re-inforce the splice at the track-change foil.I have a buttload of 8-tracks,both commercial and blank tapes, and they are a labor of love to maintain and get the most out of them. Then there's the players...they need their fair share of attention too, with new belts and a good cleaning and other concerns.But...when all are working properly, you can have a listenable, enjoyable audio experiance with 8-tracks!!It does take a certain "ear" to enjoy them, and you have to forgive them for their weakness and faults,but...they did make their mark on audio history, and should be given a chance to be "heard"(typical freq. response 60-12,000 hz,S/N ratio 40db,track change pause right in the middle of a song, crappy wow & flutter...etc...etc.)!! I have enough 8 track blanks to make up several mix tapes and such if and when I want to. My Akai is currently out of my rack sitting unplugged. Good deck as its rated 50Hz to 16khz. Anyway I'll pass on this offer as Im sure someone who actually uses these tapes more could grab them.

To retrokeeper. Yes I bought new pads and splicing material from a dealer on ebay. Since I went off the deep end and started buying 8-Tracks again about 5 months ago I have gotten about 150 more tapes (about 90% of them still sealed). My player should be here in about a week and a half. I had it serviced by a guy in Arizona named Barry Fone. Has anybody done business with him? He has his own website. Turnaround time was approximately 90 days but he told me up front so it wasn't a big deal.

Those Ampex tapes are nice.
TDK and Maxell did offer some excellent blanks as well.
