I just got my Tandberg 3014 back from Vince last Thursday. All I can say is Wow!! At 3 3/4 it is silky smooth. Tape hiss is way way down. To explain, I have a 3014A and a 3014 as a backup for parts etc. By chance, I came accross him on the internet. He does mods on a few components and this is only the 3rd mod on a cassette deck. It was extensive and costly but I wanted a unique deck that would truely beat the best. It is better than my 3014A. I hooked both up and toggled back and forth. Hands down no contest. Best by far in wow and flutter and hiss. I never cared for Dolby anyway. Really sweet. The only drawback it can only play in the fast speed now. But who cares. I have been rerecording some albums on 90 min for master archiving and the sound is INCREDIBLE!!! My 3014A has now been assigned to making tapes for my portables and car. Any serious recording is going to be with my new speedy Tandberg. So far its held up nicely after about 10-12 or so hours use. I had a BIC T-4 back in the early 80's and in the faster speed it was really really good. I always remembered that. Right now Im recording MFSL DSOM on a 90 min Denon HDM. I have always liked the MX 46. One tape one album. I told him about this site and said I'd put a review in. He said other decks could be looked at, but only by brand and each model. For cost and address just email me a message through the message center here. Side almost done and ready to turn record over. Hey Im gonna need some more tapes!!!! Mike

Mike,
How exactly was this mod done? I enquired about this a while back with no responses. What kind of cost does this mod entale? And who is Vince?

Apparently this was an April fools joke, even though this was posted on the 31st. Oh well. My dream of a high speed Tandberg continues.
