They apparently followed Dale home along with a 26" Mitusbishi CS 2611R TV.
The speaks came from a storage shed on the lot of a radio station, they've been in there about a year, sounding good right now with some jams on *bananadance**bananadance* They were bracket mounted to the wall of the studio, the cabs are beat. Can't bitch, free is good!
Please excuse the mess, had to take a quick crappy pic!
edit: I actually kinda like this pic, reminds me of my stoner days, trippin' and JBL's *wink*

As any good used car salesman will tell you, "Free is a very good price", congrats!

Too bad you didn't have these a few days back, you could have hooked your Sanyo A35 Plus Series integrated amp to them and maybe it would still be alive. *flame*
Free is good. *Hi5*

Describe 'west coast sound'...
Very forward, punchy bass, usually ported, rock sounds great on them, classical sounds better with east coast speaker's like AR's, Boston Acoustic's ADS's. This is just a general description, east coast is more laid back and they're mostly sealed cabinets.

Free, *scratchchin* that sounds like a very good deal. Couldn't happen to a better tapehead. IMHO I noticed in the picture you cut the legs off so they wouldn't walk away from your place. Tell the JBL,s I will buy them a plane ticket on a Fedex flight if they want to leave home again, no need to walk.

Describe 'west coast sound'...
Bright, forward sound with exagerated bass that is sometimes boomy. Typical west coast speakers are HPM-100's, most JBL's, Roger Sound Labs, and many others. And yes, ports are a typical feature.

Are those LE14 LF drivers in there Stewster?
I bet they are a nice sounding two way set up. I have an idea for making them better. Let me know what the LF driver is.
:)
BTW Congrats on a nice speaker at a better price*thumbsup*

Very nice speakers! They look very serious/asskicking, and very vintage. *punk*
BTW that R2R deck to the left is a monster! *eyepop*

How, can I tell what woofer it is without opening them up? Dale claims the guy who bought them got them new. It's a shame about the cabs, nice thick veneer all banged up with mounting holes on 3 sides, even the tops *eyepop*!
Jamie, the big Teac is from the last haul, it's on the 'list' of to-do's....

Free JBL, yummy.*thumbsup* The woofer is a 118H used only in the L56 (IIRC). 1-1/2" voice coil so bass may be much different than some of its comparable relatives.

A clue! They're 10" and the L46 is 8" I know that much, I guess I'll put checking out the LH site for more info on the list, Rex E. does this help with your upgrade path. They take some getting used to after listening to the Logans, two completely different animals. 'The Police' sound esspecially yummy on them. They are nice 2ways, they really seem like they need to be on some good stands. Dale's gonna experiment with milk crates and some tilting.

Ah, I thought they were 12's.
I assemled a set of the WaveGuide speakers from over on the other site and I really like them. Sound way better than I'd expected. Not sure if you like horns though.
