"Found this nice, unmolested specimen of a rare Kenwood Tube Receiver. Model # KW-60. 30 watts per channel. Dual tuners. Gold bezel, and porcelain face plate. Circa 1965. Aquired from original owner through an estate sale. Unit was in working order but as it is over 40 years old, I took it to my tech for a going over. Here is what he found and did to unit. ALL tubes are THE ORIGINAL factory Matsushiti tubes. They were all tested and found to be working properly although some are in the marginal range. He replaced a number of decoupling caps that were faulty, replaced some wiring that was brittle, cleaned, and adjusted switches, pots, tuners, etc.. As the unit sits it is in good shape cosmetically. As mentioned, with use the tubes will eventually need replacement. The Bass control is a little finicky, in the 2-3 o'clock position, but otherwise works fine. Unit has been run continuously for many hours on a pair of platinums with no trouble, and sounds VERY nice considering the age of the outputs. Includes original owners manual and schematic. $150 firm OR will trade for an interesting vintage Solid State AMP, RECEIVER(Marantz, Pioneer, Sansui, Etc.), TURNTABLE, GUN, AMMO, GENERATOR, TOOLBOX, OR "
Cool-o-mundo but, pricey, I posted for *grin*'s
