I have a 3014A. I can make great recordings. very very close to source. This is my question. Last night, Using Maxell MXS, When Im switching from tape to source my tape sounds just a little louder and brighter. I can turn my record current down and bias and then it sounds perfect. MY question is this??? I have not experienced this before. Is my deck out of calibration? I warmed it up 2 hours. Or is it the tape itself? I have not tried another. Also what does the record sensitivity adjustment do in the back. My left meter is slightly lower than the right. Just a little off. Will that fix it???? My recording settings are around 9 oclock. Will adjusting the scews in the back affect that???? The manual does not mention the scew holes in the back. I need to mention my hand accidentily slipped off my demagnetizer button. Deck was on. Can I hurt the electronics???????
