Hello,

I've won in auction for 10 XLII-S for 17Eur (around 22,5 USD). They are the one with red dot in left upper corner.
Now I wonder - I've asked the seller if he has some more - and he offered me another 10 for same price - so in total 34Eur/20pcs + shipping costs.

Is that a good deal for this series of XLII-S?

If I assume form Des-Lab's description in his topic about Maxell's range:

COLLECTION 6: 1992-1995
6. XLII-S: Apart from revised packaging, no difference from previous version that I could tell. This also should be considered the final 'good' grade of XLII-S.

than I think for that price they are worth of buying as much as I can get them, correct?

Well I think it is a pretty good price for them.
I do not know the exact prices of NOS cassettes in Slovenia,
but here you should pay at least the double of it if you want it now. Demand is getting higher...

Even at exchange rates that's not a bad deal in the US. Stock up!

Thanks to both.

@lose652: NOS cassetes in Slovenia are history :-( All I can get here directly are new series of TDK D and similar - and price is insane ...
From that point of view - slightly more than 2Eur for 1 XLII-S is a total bargain.

For that vintage Maxell that is a good price. You seldom find that many around at that price. *thumbsup*

Excellent - this will act as a counterweight to the highest price I ever payed for a cassete untill now - also one of my latests purchases ...
3 TDK SA 90 from '90:

In total around 8,5Eur :O for one cassete ... - 1 month ago I got 5 NOS TDK SA-XS for 4Eur/cassete

Is this version of SA good? Btw - I don't collect tapes to have them unopened - but to use them.

Yeah, I know TDK D and stuff at the malls, but you too must have a Slovenian e-bay-like auction site. Most of the tape exchange here goes on two action sites.
Or did you buy them from ebay?

Hi,

yes we have "slovenian-Ebay-look-a-like" page - but not many NOS cassetes there.

I've bought some Maxell UDII there - and after that here on TH realized they are not very good- since they are post 2000 and the quallity was allready an issue ... :-(

For comparison purposes, back in 1988-89, the store I worked for sold the XLII-S90, discounted, for as little as $2.19 a piece and as much as $2.69 a piece, USD. So yes, I believe that to be a good price!
