Now Hiring For Moderator

Attention all fellow Tapeheads! I am looking to bring a third Moderator into the group.

This is a volunteer unpaid position. In addition to your normal interaction on the site, a Moderator will:

1. Make corrections to grammar or syntax as needed.

2. Move and delete posts/discussions as needed.

3. Stick or unstick threads as needed.

4. Be ready to step in and break up/defuse any discussion that flares into a flamewar.

5. Be a go-to person for all new and current members if there is a question regarding site policy or function.

6. Ban users if needed (to date, we've only had to unplug one person).

7. Post notices and announcements if there is a substantial development in any of the above 1-6.

I am looking to bring 1 (one) additional person onboard to join myself, Scorp, and Broons.

However, I think it's a not that good idea to let me modeerate.
English/American is not really my tongue.
There are sudden and long periods where I have to leave the net alone.
I can be a real "bitch", myself, due to my former decade long job, resocializing heavy criminals.

We'd like someone who has enthusiasm, doesn't need to count their digits, doesn't have to have any specialty knowledge other than a love of audio, music, forum-companionship, and can set their Caesar-complex aside (I've got dibs on that). Come one, come all....Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends....

Thanks for all the support guys. Seriously though I don't think I'd be right for the job as managing other people is not my best strength. Its why I never got the job for photolab manager so many years ago. And honestly I don't know how I could sell myself to Matt to make him think I could really do it.

In all the years I've been online and all the forums I've visited over that time, TapeHeads has GOT to be the first site where NOBODY wanted to be a Mod. Anywhere else, and the applications and beggings would be flooding in.

I'm not really sure what to make of that. I could interpret that any number of ways. Some flattering. Some not so flattering.

But whatever. I don't expect anyone to be strong armed into it nor will I just pick someone who didn't ask and announce that they are now a Mod. Likewise, I'm not going to let a cheerleading rally decide it.

Either you guys want it. Or you don't. I'm fine either way. I guess that just means that myself, Broons, and Scorp will just have to carry the load ourselves. I do have two applications in. I will review and if I think one of them will be a good fit, I'll do it.

So who knows. It could be that we don't end up adding anyone at this time. Like I said. I'm fine with that as well.

Ever wonder how they drew up the US- Canada border at where it is today? Think about it. In the US its- 70 degrees. In Canada- its.... 20 degrees. They say a man walked up to where the border is, and went "BRrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I think we'll draw the line HERE."

(If anyone missed the temperature thing, we have Celcius up here while US is ferenheight (sp?)).
