Many of you are here from AK. As such, you know that I hosted a number of Name Those Tunes contests for free tape giveaways. A few of you have asked if I'll be doing them here. I want to, but not until we reach the activity level I feel would justify it. And we are getting there. We are now well past 100 members. But I want to see a minimum of 50 (fifty) posts per day on average for 30 (thirty) consecutive days. Looking at the site stats, for the last ten days (not counting today), we are at 46.5. I don't want to go back any further because on June 12, there was a meager 8 posts made the entire day. That would sink the averages big time. So I started the 'clock' on June 13. So starting from that day, if we can hit that magic number, I'll host a contest shortly thereafter. So one can come in as little as twenty days. if activity greatly picks up and that average goes up. Or else not for an indefinite time period. It's a tricky formula to try and explain in words, even though it makes total sense in my head. I'll say it again: when thirty consecutive days have elapsed and the AVERAGE post count per day on the site is 50 or higher, that's when the contest will happen.

So we are almost there. If you want to see those contests return, please keep it up. Remember what I said in Sundays weekly bulletin and keeping the tape stuff on one site and actively promoting any way you can? Well this should be another reason to keep it up. All fellow TH'ers CAN have a vested interest in it as well.

If any of you want to announce that the "Name Those Tunes" conests are [almost] back, over at the site where they became famous, that will surely siphon sone more tape related traffic off there and onto here.

I'll be sure to post daily or at least a few times weekly updates to see where we are at.

Des, how are the members doing on the post counts? Do you have any current statistics to post?

It looks like the membership and post counts are rising quite nicely.

Name that tune, Name that Tune, Name that Tune. )dance(

We're almost there. Current average since I started the clock, on June 13 is 68 p/p/d, not counting today.

So if this level holds, we can see an announcement for the first [new] contest in as soon as a week.

Des, you don't have to rush anything. I was just curious how Tapeheads was doing lately.

Hey Matt, I never got much of your "teasers" as I called them, I think since we're so close to the goal, you should have the reel's at the ready, just fire it up, drag some lurkers out and get the members up, alot of lurkers just want to know about the music, and get free stuff.
So do ya have one ready? How many catagories are ya planning? Your love songs one was a good 'un, but, left me quite flumoxed*fit* I think I missed 4, I guess what I'm saying is fire one up, Please, pretty please, with sugar on top, "I'll take obscure 80's dance remixes for a hundred, Alex":-oo:-oo*stirpot**twocents*

The first 'contest' is currently in the planning stages. Not all of the songs have been chosen, finalized, or filmed yet. Because it will be the first contest, it will likely be a 'mix' of several different styles.

Stay tuned.
