Here in Orange County, SoCal, it's hotter than the dickens. And after getting fried last week in Laughlin, decided that today would be spent indoors under drawn window shades and the A/C running. Mrs. Des is doing her scrapbooking thing and I decided to listen to some tunes.

Todays tape pick is a compilation of mid and late 70's stuff. I think it's a rather nice, well rounded mix of the era. I also decided to film clips of every track! First time I ever did an entire tape. So here it is along with a snippet of each song. Would like to get your input on selections, order/flow, and so forth.

Deck: Teac X-2000R
Tape: Maxell UD 35-180

Wow lots of great music there. Lots of work involved in recording and post them too. There are a few I don't recognize by the name and artist, but after listening to them I can recall them. Man it is tough getting old.

Is this the one that you mentioned your Dad made (and blamed you for the record skipping) that you mentioned in an earlier post? Cool mix of tunes. Too bad they won't let you program a radio station like this.

That's the one. This compilation was originally created by my father. I still have the original gold box UD it was made on. But I re-created it on a new blue box UD some years back. Most of the songs I already had on CD. But that song was one of the few that I didn't, so to maintain historical continuity, I simply dubbed it off the original tape to this one.

loads of effort here Matt, but very appreciated. What do you use to make the films? I can't get enough of these clips and track listings at the moment to help find new music. Keep it going please.

Nothing very complicated. Just a digital camcorder mounted on a tripod. Then I use a USB cord to transfer them to my PC. From there, they get uploaded directly to YouTube as attachments. It can be time consuming, but it's nothing that I consider to be at all difficult.

GREAT, thanks Matt, looks like something I could actually do too. One day i will get organised.
