Hi guys: I`m sure I `m going to learn a lot about reel to reel recorders in here.
My machines: Tascam 32..Akai GX 625..several Revox A-77..Teac A-3300SX..several Philips.etc
Just a hobby : repair them..cleaning them..and finally , enjoy my tapes.
Analog Rulez!!!

Hey Jorge,
Welcome!
Nice bunch of machines you got there!
I'm learning too. Better late than never.
When my time comes, they'll have to pry me off these engineering art masterpieces. I'm hopelessly out of date & glad of it!! They can keep the black plastic junk. I'll take big whooshing metal reels over it every time.

Welcome! Cassettes. Tapes. It's all good.
Want to trade some tape for some REAL authentic Dutch cocoa?
Hey, another Dutchie delurking. I'm just getting back into cassettes, a format I always liked. Hope to learn many new things on this forum!
My decks are all mid fi: Nakamichi CR-1E, JVC TD-R472 and Onkyo TA-6510, though I'm trying to go the thrift stores regularly on the lookout for better decks. There is a Denon DRM-700 for sale in my local thrift ("kringloopwinkel" in Dutch), is that a decent deck?
When it comes to music, I'm into (hard) rock and metal so I guess I'm in a minority here??

Erwin

Welcome!
I visited Amsterdam and The Hague a couple years ago.
Good cheese, beer and some other stuff :)
I also like rock: Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Motörhead, etc.

I dig classic hard rock too! Once grunge hit though, it's all been downhill in the rock world. A few newer bands I love are The Black Crowes and Gov't Mule. The Black Keys are pretty cool too. It should kind of tell you where my head is at when I consider the Crowes a newer band! I'm 42 but I prefer older music generally.

ErwinMy experience with Denon says Careful,, belts are tough to come by,,Test it in play and record mode for a while if the belts and pinch rollers are worn it will dis-engage,,belts can be found thru e-bay,Marscommunication is a member here and can probablly hook you up but you,ll need to send him the old belts so he can match them Welcome to Tapeheads
