There hasn't been much activity in this sub-forum lately, so I thought I'd post a few pictures of some of my tube equipment. The first 2 pictures are of my headphone amp, a recent aquisition, which I need because I'm able to use speakers very often (thin walls in my apartment). The other 2 pictures are of my power amp, which I have owned for some time, since about 1990.
I also have a tube pre-amp, but it doesn't seem to photograph that well.
Tube stuff seems to photograph best in a soft light. There's nothing like the glow from a couple of 6550 power tubes!

I hope to get myself a MC 275 and C 220 someday to enjoy tubes myself. One day.

I love the tube sound myself. I think it makes the biggest difference in a phono stage...less of a difference if you are running only digital as a source. But they can be a bit finicky at times...especially the power tubes. That MC275, is that a McIntosh amp?

The guy I used to buy my audio stuff from here used to sell Quicksilver amps as well. I remember they sounded quite nice. Not familiar with your preamp though.

Yup- both models I listed are Mac units. Currently on the Mark 5 version of the 275. The other is a fairly new design preamp that has a fairly neutral sound for a tube unit.

This is my current amp. A VRD ST45 from NOS Valves, built by Craig Otsby.

Here is a few pictures of what I call my Toobervox amp. This was a MAgnavox AMP185 console pull that now inactive member Toober completely rebuilt for me.
This amp runs 4-6V6 power tubes, 2- 12AT7 drivers and a 5U4 rectifier. It sounds excellent and is one of the best 6V6 tube amps(or others) I've heard to date.
Hope I can do work like this someday.
