First time for these. Now if my collectors mentality will let me open the package and try one. I have a collection of hanging two packs and this is the first Denon I've ever found. In fact I've never had a Denon HD7 before.
I'll let you know who wins.

I agree with Scorp however, I would make a careful cut with an exact-o knife on the back and slip one out to use. I really like the packaging of the tape itself, so save one if you like and use the other one, just my *twocents*.

The idea of framing nice copys of tapes is great but, some of us (Me) are tapeaholic's in need of a fix and serious help. A pretty, sealed score is just too tempting for me. plus I have to smell a NOS tape *hypnot*

Keep the two pack if you can resist the temptation to open them. Those HD7's are good tapes (though I'm not a huge fan of that particular cassette housing, the tape inside is very good) and can almost always be found in multiple quantity lots on Fleabay. Get one of those and record from them. It's not as if the HD7 is a rare tape. But finding an intact two-pack bag IS.

Disregard my previous post, I didn't know the 2-pack bag item was rare.

well, stuwster, if you truly enjoy sniffing NOS cassettes as i myself have stated before regarding you, then i am confident that you will find the excessive aroma if an NOS 1990 MA-XG positively delightful, and alone well worth the $29.99 ea. BIN this spanish fellow is currently asking for his NOS stock: http://cgi.ebay.com/TDK-MA-XG-90-SEALED_W0QQitemZ270292106768QQcmdZViewItem?hash=it em270292106768&_trkparms=72%3A1205|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A13 18&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

does that mean that this two-pack is rare as well? it has been opened, but neither cassette appears to have been used once...

yea, those TDKs are pretty common, and since it's been opened 99% of any collector value is gone. Use and enjoy!

I was referring to the HD7's. No, I'm not kidding. :)
