I caught the shutterbug last night so I decided to make a little gallery of all of my Maxell tape.
First, the Normal Bias (and one high bias):

Next, all high bias:

Totally Vintage:

And now, an odd bootleg(?) tape from the SA:

And another strange thrift find:

Not the most high end stuff, but nice to have for sure!

So surely by now all of you are acquainted with the "world famous" Des-Lab Maxell cassette gallery?
Believed to be the only collection of its kind anywhere. Numerous searches deep into as many sites as I could find have failed to yield a collection as complete as this one. Especially enshrined as I have done. Even the Melofanas collection, unless is incomplete, is missing several tapes found in my display. Of course in all fairness, he has many tapes that I DON'T have. But we are talking about complete collections as opposed to numerous individual tapes. And of course fellow TH'er Braxus took my idea and did something similar, but customized to his tastes. And what's shown here ISN'T even my entire collection. I still have at least a dozen other types stashed away because their representative lineups are still incomplete. One day they will be all displayed.
Perhaps some Maxell employee somewhere either here and/or in Japan has a truly complete collection of EVERY Maxell tape ever made. But I have yet to find any publically displayed evidence of such a collection.

Scored a few at a record shop yesterday. I can't believe the 2 older ones were only $1.99 a piece. Unfortunately, that's all they had in that vintage.

Yes! The two on the bottom are exceptional tapes. I never come across these at the thrift stores, come to think of it I don't see the ones on top either.

Very nice. Good catch! I see that this was an older post. And the picture of my Maxell "museum" is now dated. Since that picture was taken, there were a few additions made.
So here's what MY Maxell gallery looks like now:

Nice wall! From what I can tell in the picture, you have 105:30 hours of recording time hanging on the wall. That is nearly 4 and a half days worth of music! *reelspin**reelspin*

Then you should be glad you aren't seeing what's just to the right out of the picture. *naughty*

Here is a Peuter Maxell key chain that came in a cassette box. This was given to me by Maxell Management as a gift for distributing product in Mexico for them in the early 90's. I think this was something they had for a while..
