Well its getting more noticable then when I first got it, but one or both sides are breaking up/ cutting out when I use the tape 1 selection. It doesn't do this on the source input from say a tuner. So its a tape 1 input issue. Does this sound like a worn out capacitor or resistor? It sounds like I'll need to take it in to get it looked at. Im not one for repairing these things myself. Any ideas?

I would give it a big DeOxit bath of the switches before I try anything else. Some contacts are more susceptible to corrosion than others. Had same thing happen on an HK 330c that "only" affected the tape monitor switch, regardless of whether tape was being used or not.

Agreed. If the output is good from other sources, the problem is likely a dirty source switch or dubbing controls. Try wiggling and working the switch, it it comes back, then you know where to clean.

Ok thanks guys. I'll give it a shot and see if its the switch.

I tried it moving the switch and it did cut in and out a little bit, but it wasn't perfect. I'll have to see if I can get some cleaner.

Did you get it fixed?
