I hope it also making a comeback.
What surprises me the most is that 16-20-year-old kids becoming die hard fans of vinyl and tape. It is not nostalgia for them but a love of the format and many cases the simple acknowledge of quality in sound.

I have been on the case of the electronics industry for years due to their inclination to pick up new formats and just immediately jettison the older ones in a wink. Many of us have been through the format "wars" for years and the industry keeps on doing the same stupid things over and over.
I always suspect that money is the real motive behind these changes; of course progress is being made in the technology but to just ignore all of the older formats is just a sin. I spent Saturday selling cassettes in a church sale along with CDs. The older folks, over fifty crowd, are starved for music of their interest and time and I try to supply them. They aren't the ones who line up on Tuesdays at Best Buy to get some music and they are always glad to see me with the music that they love. They, and we in here, are a public that wants a lot of choice in music and we are, for the most part, being ignored. Sorry for the little rant but that's life!!

Doesn't sound like a rant to me anyway. Well put, Sir!:-)<-:-)<- though if we keep all this up, the downside is first prices go up for coveted tapes and gear. the up side is, maybe the manufacturer's will start making stuff again!

Well a quick sniff around shows the prices up thing is not only happening, it's pretty entrenched, Doh! So the big players in the audio world have to be paying attention to all this, not to mention the artists themselves, can ya'll imagine U2 having their new release on a limited edition chrome cassette*shivers*
