Greetings fellow tapers! It's the time of year when the spooks, goblins, and monsters are all out. Trips to the pumpkin patch are a sacred ritual as are having nightly 'marathons' on the TV of "The Munsters" and "Ghostbusters". And no doubt this is also the time of year when most dentists get excited because of all the candy that gets consumed.
And here at TapeHeads, I'd like to get in on the fun in our own way. As many of you know, we now have a front page that features an "Image Of The Day" which depicts a nice picture from the forums, either recent or from the archives.
I'd like to get into the Halloween spirit by putting you all to the task. I'm holding a contest to see who can come up with the best Halloween themed tape-based picture. Let's see how creative you can get by meshing the two ideas together: your system draped in orange and black lights and a giant ghost. Or a reel painted up like a pumpkin Jack-O'-Lantern. Something along those lines. And you will also probably have to have some good photography skills as well.
The winner shall receive a free tape from Des's famous "stash" (choices will be posted soon). And the winning picture will be posted on the front page for three days: October 29, 30, and 31. I will also modify the colors to match the 'theme'.
All entries must be posted here in this discussion. There is no limit to the number of entries per-person to submit. However, all entries MUST be submitted by the original author/artist. Pictures taken from elsewhere or otherwise plagarized will be disqualified. Contest is open to active TapeHeads.Net members only.
The contest will close on Sunday, October 26th 2008 6PM Pacific Time (check your time zone charts to see how that converts into your local time). All entries must be posted by then. The winning artist will be notified by both PM and as an announcent inside this discussion no later than Tuesday, October 28. And as with all my contests, there is nothing to buy. The winner shall receive the tape free of charge. No shipping charges to pay and you will not be led into a 'bait-and-switch' scam where in order to get your "free" tape, you need to buy something else. No tricks here. Just a treat in the form of a new and free tape.
So let's see what you can come up with. Contest is open immediately upon this message being posted.
Good luck.
