Can anyone advise me where I can go to to look for the Plastic Flywheel that is attached to a motor by Belt and that brings In/Out the Tray for the CD.

The plastic wheel measure 1 inch and 5.5 Big Units (where 1 inch is divided into 8 Big units OR 16 Smaller units

This is the picture of the part.

Try either PartStore.com (http://www.partstore.com/Default.aspx) or Marantz product support, or try MCM Electronics (http://www.mcmelectronics.com/) for a replacement mechanism.

If you do eBay then search for CDM4 CDM-4 CD wheels (assuming it is the CDM4 unit fitted to your player) and you should find a few from Hong Kong

You might also try Dalbani out of Miami. They carry a huge selection of parts and optics assemblies. Both oem and aftermarket.

When I power on the CD Player the LED lights up on the panel.

The Gear wheel is broken. When I press OPEN there is a sound of the motor revving but because there is no gear wheel nothing moves.

I switched off the power and manually pull out the TRAY and put a CD on and pushed TRAY back.

I power up the Player and switched on the Player and the LED panel lights up.

But the Panel does not show the track listing of the CD.

Does this mean that the Laser Pick-up is spoilt or is it because the CD is not spinning that the LASER PICKUP is not able to detect.

Your advice please.

I do not want to buy the gear whelel to find out that the Laser Pickup is not working.

Thank you very much.

You're probably not engaging a limit switch that tells the unit that the disc tray is loaded and to start focus search.
