The stereo input level control on the WM-D6Cs are a bit wanting. Is there a way to make these track more uniformly? Or perhaps some tweeks on the circuit board?

On one unit, I see a 2 db discrepancy with the left channel being higher than the right.

Also, it seems the left channel on all my WM-D6Cs show less stability at 12khz tone -20db looking at the waveform. Wonder what might be the cause for that.

These are unobtanium, and break regularly and easily. Yours has a hairline crack in one of the wafers. I remove the control, remove the wafer by bending tabs, and superglue the crack. After the glue dries, bridge the crack with conductive silver paint in the area where the wiper is not making contact. This will help a bit, but the tracking will still be a bit off.
