I've just bought a set of these hard to find items, and thought that other members may be interested.

A gentleman from North Yorkshire has recast these slider controls in black plastic. I have receceived and fitted them today to my 3300X, and, although not perfect - the inner, non visible part of the knob is a tad rough, they are very good value at £5 + postage for a set of three.

or google Tandberg Style Slider Knobs on ebay

I've no connection with the seller! Just thought I'd pass on a good thing.

Hi!
Thanx for sharing.
Can you post a picture of that screw ? Is the knob drilled at the side ?

Unfortunately he doens'nt have green and red. Black never crack........

True, but I never liked the green and red knobs anyway even if they weren't all prone to cracking. Yes, it does give you a faster visual cue as to which levels you're about to adjust but I've never had a problem with that on all of my other decks with all-black knobs. The green and red knobs and buttons just made those decks look a little garish, in my opinion. I'd say the same thing about the function buttons on the TCD910, would have preferred them to be the same finish as the other knobs and buttons as is the case on the 3014A.

Hi Tandberg - there are very small grub screws at the sides to fasten the knobs to the arms. Invisible if you screw them on the middle pointing side.

This is good for stability, bad for quick removal to get at the internals of the deck - but only by 30 seconds with the supplied Allan key

If someone can tell me how to post photos, I'll send a couple of the fitted knobs

Thanks for the info,... I'm missing one of the slider knobs on my 10XD.

I thought the not really green and not really red knobs were the only reason to own a Tandberg reel!

Naah... the better models didn't use them anyway, was a relatively short-lived period with last of the 3000-series RTR decks and the earlier 9000-series decks. The 10X/10XD and 20A don't use them, nor did the earlier stuff.

The black slider knobs from the 300/400 series cassette decks fit just fine as replacements, and some of those decks are a dime a dozen in non-working condition. I went that route to replace the perished green slider knobs on my 9041X.
