Tascam Stereo Microphone for iOS products

I placed a pre-order for this through B&H Photo. This seems like it would be great for recording live performances using the standard apps on the iPhone.

That's pretty cool, but I wonder how well it'll work vs. a more traditional solution.

Went to a concert with a friend of mine once that was an experienced Dead taper... it was funny watching booms and microphones sprout from people's shoulders when the lights went down and the music started, and spotting the glow on faces from their VU checks *reelspin*

I'll find out soon. Ordered one. I think this is a pretty convenient solution in video recordings and for making digital copies from acoustic records instead of sticking a Shure SM58 into the horn.
