let it be said here first: you author is an obsessive-compulsive nitpicker. so much, in fact, that not even a $330.00 remote control (that i got from a guy in texas via AMAZON for $40.00 used with box, manual and warranty card) will satisfy my scary ass. at least not without a little modification, anyway. my mother thought me*el_loco* for repeatedly dismantling this sucker and running the body halves over the hair dryer to work out the moderately slight downward warp on either end of the remote's length that is, in fact, so common among late '80s/early ninties PIONEER remotes of every stripe, that it could be theorized as PIONEER's stab at ergonomics. (which, in your author's humble opinion, is a bane upon remote controls, and the chief reason they all look so fruity these days) anyway, since, IMO, a large, imposing control such as this should be comprised of as many straight angles as possible, i set to work correcting that flaw. the result? see for yourself...

with a 427 button programmable memory and a fully customizable LCD display, this is one of the most adaptable remotes PIONEER ever designed. the crown jewel of my remote collection that i feel lucky to have, especially in a world where most people simply cannot seem to keep track of even one of their remote controls...
