hey there! any THers into the british jazz-funk band LEVEL 42? if nothing else, surely everyone's at least passingly familiar with their biggest hit, "SOMETHING ABOUT YOU" terrific band, there are of course few if any others at all in the history of contemporary music that can sing and play greased-lightning fast funk-bass simutaneously the way that lead vocalist/bass player Mark King does!! WOW!! it must be seen to be believed!!!!*eyepop*

I have that one, but nothing more of theirs. I do have a bunch of UB40 and Fine Young Cannibals, two similar groups of the same era.

When I worked at a record store in the mid 80's I remember selling a bunch of one of their albums. I probably heard them being played by a co-worker in the store but I don't remember what they sounded like. That sort of music isn't my thing. But I do remember what the album cover looked like.

"World Machine" was one of my many favs of there's, the bass line was the 'hook' more than the lyrics. i have the Shep Pettibone remixes that are very well done. Huge dynamics.
