o-o:-)o-o:-)o-o:-) I FIXED IT!!!!o-o:-)o-o:-)o-o:-) thank you for your words of confedence yesterday, stuwster!!!! anyway, i aquired this fine CDP for $9.99 at the same Tri-Cities, WA. VALUE VILLAGE where i found the Nak BX-100.
got it home and found that it would not play either CD-R nor factory CD without randomly fritzing-out all over the track and sometimes jumping to the adjacent track in either direction. after some fiddling, i came to the conclusion that the laser pick-up was simply dying. some months ago i had found that 1990 model DENON CDP, the one i robbed the feet off of for my modified cherry 1986 DENON DCD-1500. i put another set of feet i had lying around from when i upgraded the feet of my mother's late-model YAMAHA A/V receiver, and i gave the player to my little sister. she already had the 1987 PIONEER PD-M50 that i had handed down to her when i got my PD-M6. anyway, she said she never used the DENON, preferring the PIONEER. so, i took it out, and, in a fit of desperation to fix this 910, i took a look inside, and found that this 1990 model used the SAME transport assembly!! a different model number on the pickup, and a couple/three of the plug connectors a different color, but otherwise EXACTLY the same!!!! so, i swapped them out, having to experiment with those odd-colored connectors a little to find their proper plug posts, but, in less than 30 minutes, the 910 was rendered FULLY FUNCTIONAL, playing that "Minmay Collection" track that the original dying transport was tripping out on fully through with nothing coming out but gorgeous DENON double-DAC sound!!!! i'm a happy camper indeed, at last, NO MORE MAGGOTBOX oops, i mean MAGNAVOX!!!!o-o:-)o-o:-)o-o:-)o-o:-)
