First off I hate the idea of music being stuck only on a computer. I like to have hard copies of music I like so it can be played easily and at any place with a player.

Also I've noticed that getting music these days in stores is becoming very limited in selection. And many won't order in music you want anymore. So that leaves me to downloading. As much as I hate the idea- it seems its leaving me with little choice. Plus ordering online is adding up in terms of shipping costs all the time.

So I'm wondering this. If one can download Hi-rez files on your computer, is it possible to archive them on a Blu Ray disc and have the Blu Ray player play that high rez file? This is not a cheap option considering the price of blank Blu Ray discs, but I'd like one option at least to master these files to something. Im talking about 24 or 32 bit 192khz files. Can you make up a Blu Ray disc with these files and have it play?

About ordering online & shipping, try www.cdwow.com They ship worldwide FREE, the same as www.play.com

After my experience with optical media, I wouldn't save my data for long storage if someday I'd to get it. Maybe after 10 or 15 years some data will be unreadable.

It's better and cheap to backup the data into a hard disk. You can buy a media center and connect it to your system to listen that music.

My personal solution is a double backup. One in CD/DVD/Hard Disk, and copy that music into open reel tape.
