technics car speakers? sb-f10

just gt a pair of these as part of a giant junk lot. they look like car speakers but i dont recall technics getting into the car audio market. the tweeter assembly can be rotated 90 deg. on the back you have the option of feeding them as 4ohm or 8ohm.

would post my own pics but they need to be cleaned up and are filthy. anybody remember these? were they car speakers? i'm thinking they are from the early 80's, am i correct?

I believe these were meant for mobile or home use,I think I have a pocket brochure by Technics that show these speakers.I'll need to look and find the brochure,will see what I can find,but not until Thursday. How do they sound...they are pretty cool looking!! Rob Rob
