The one all the "pros" recommend is the Annis B. Han-d-mag. That's the only one to get IMHO; I love mine:

Yes Sir Annis Had-D-Mag cant be beat. One of the best DeMags going. A but pricey but in our hobby of Maintaining the Decks it needs one of the best. It's available with Long and Short probes as well.

I have a Geneva brand wand "demagger". I bought it at a "pro" store. Seems to work pretty well for me. I wouldn't mind getting a 'backup' unit though. They may be expensive. But imagine how expensive the hobby would be WITHOUT one and your tapes all eventually having the upper cycles wiped off and having to re-record/replace them. Yowza!

I use a TDK HD-11 that I've had for over 20+ years. Works great!

I read somewhere that the RB Annis Han-D-mag is more powerful than say, the TEAC E-1 & E-3 that Teac made for their decks. I have one that I bought from US Recording, but haven't used yet. I have an E-1 that I've been using. All I want to know is, is it ok to use the Han-D-mag on all my decks (Teac A3340S, 3440,38, TSR-8) & even the Tascam 424mkIII cassette portastudio? IOW, it's not just for bigger or pro decks. The thing I read seemed over the top about it's power & destructive potential if you don't move it just so, & I do understand about approaching the deck slowly.
