ever go picking in your own shed? *el_loco*
i'm cleaning house in my old shed at my moms so i can migrate my tube collection over there. just found these long lost friends! a becker, 2 german blaupunkts, and a grundig car stereo. the balupunkts and the becker are german. the blaupunkts are actually from right about when they were going to shift manufacturing to japan.

i set them aside and hope to get them on the bench soon to see if they have any hope.

Love the old Blaupunkt units! There was quality design and engineering back then. Love them!

the becker was my favorite by far. it had some mechanical logic to it so FF and REW where always FF and REW which wasn't the case on many car decks.

id like to get one of the german made ones working again. i might luck out as i just snagged on buy it now another much cleaner new york with its matching 4 x 15wpc amp. once i have one working unit i wont have much need for the others. i love the becker but having two new york models seems to be a blessing. try fixing the trashiest one and then apply knowledge to better looking one.

I have some Becker parts ...and the Mexico manual! I also have the Blaupunkt manuals. The tape transport was used in Delco radios for about 10 years, so parts should be no problem.

all the 80's delco bose units and the high end delcos with the 5 bar eq had the blaupunkt tape mechanisms, but they usually have an issue with the mechanism just fast forwarding or auto reversing.
