With the help of a friend... we just built these racks for my ever expanding gear assortment.... here is my living room makeover:

About 3 hours after (after the racks were totally done, that is):

I use that original rack in the bedroom, at this time, for media storage.

Thanks... and Yes. Big fan of the 'Natural Sound'. In the pic is three integrated amps a CA-1000, 1010, and 2010. An a CT-1010 tuner. And just yesterday I got a CT-800 which outperforms the 1010.

Thanks. Last year I got that rack in the before picture, thinking I was done accumulating the gear. But NO.... so when things really got out of hand I came up with this design and a woodworking friend built them for me. As you can see, they are separate racks... so if needed I can add on more. Though I need more room!!:)

Nice work!
I'm about to find somebody who can make my own racks. The ready made ones just don't fit to the room or don't have enogh space for a R2R.

What about the FleXy racks?
DIY custom raacks. Soon as my father sends the $$$, I'll be building 2 6' high ones for $300....

Yep.
But funding has come up short, and I am NOT going to sell a deck to build those.....

Great looking setup. I am a fan of the Yamaha tape decks also. Had a K-950. Am now using a KX-1200 and KX-390. No complaints here.

I got two Thomasville centers for $57 and I think I have less than $20 into that recording center made from a shabby desk and free Sauder center. I made a bunch of blue shelves that I put wherever I needed.
Of course, I've never needed a rack of SPEC gear housed but I do my best.
