I got a Concept ELC a couple months back, and it does not work.

I have isolated the problem to the main drive motor, which gets warm, but does not work.

Belt is on and is fine.

there's one broken wire on the top of the transport that I cannot figure out where it is supposed to connect to...

It's yellow. That does not help any, I know. I'll post up pix later.

This is a great lookin deck, and feels very nice, and I'd love to have it back up and running. Heads look almost perfect. And the meters are just dead sexy. *hearts*

If the main drive motor is getting warm, then it's taking current across the windings and trying to move. If it also as stated doesn't work, then it may have a dead spot. Flush it with DeOxit contact cleaner, and then (when it's dried suitably) power it up and give the motor (usually by the pulley attached) a good spin and see if she spins along. If she does, leave it running for awhile (oh two or three days should suffice). Work the logic controls back and forth a few times. Lemme know what happens.

ps - Pics of the transport area might help to solve the wire issue....

How would I flush it with DeOxit?

This also means that I need to get some....

Good thing that I am selling a set of speakers soon....

There are usually small windage holes in the motor casing. You may have to tilt the deck up to see. Any decent brand of electrical contact cleaner will work. (even those sold at auto parts stores).
