i just came across this in my collection, a leftover from my days of recording mixtapes for my ex-father when he was a long-haul trucker for C.R. ENGLAND. of the one or two half-dozen packs that i had got back then, this single example is all i have left, the balance long gone to my ex-father's long-hauling. at the time, i got this clever little notion to perform a minor alteration with an X-ACTO to two of them; one for him, the other for my posterity...

frankly, i still find it rather amusing, in a lunk-headed sort of way...:D

Polish that baby up with successively finer wet sandpapers and plastic polish and it'd look great!

call me stupid, but what exactly IS a wet-sandpaper? do you dampen it before use? i have many grits of modelling sandpaper in my plastic model supplies. still, that's an idea; i might try some CD scratch-remover on those spots in a bit here...

one item of note here. while there is no mention of tape formulation anywhere on this stupid thing, the tape itself is a TRANSPARENT deep rust color. anyone have an idea what sort of emulsion this is?

Hey I found some of those in 120 minute at Goodwill once. I haven't gotten around to trying them yet, do they sound ok?

I also have one sealed and two unsealed examples of it's cousin. I think these sound very nice. They are high bias.

I actually got a single sealed CD BASS 74 at GW the other day. Got a single sealed Fuji DR I with it, too. The TDK looks exactly like Lady Ayeka's. The Fuji, on the other hand, looks pretty old. It's got a red/green stripe packaging, and an opaque black shell on the tape. I can't find a year on it, of course, but maybe that'll help somebody identify it.
I seem to have adopted the policy of keep at least one sealed, use all the others. Maybe I'm getting hooked?

How are those TDK CD Power cassettes? Frys.com has them for $6 or $7 for a 5-pack & I've been temped to pick some up. However, if they're not any better than the SA, I'll pass.

In my opinion TDK SA Tapes are better. I am not fond of 110 minute tapes either.
