Hi, Everyone--
We had alot of rain in central PA today, so no soccer, lawnwork, etc.: time for taping!
Or so I thought! I began taping Edison recordings off the Internet, and about an hour into things, my Pioneer CT-W603RS starts squealing on the record side, and then "grinds" to a halt. Okay, so I thought, all right, I'll try another machine, an Onkyo TA-RW313 I purchased used three weeks ago. This deck worked fine until about two hours ago: side A (which I usually use for fast-forwarding/rewinding the tape before recording) also came to a dead stop, and the record side, which sounded fine earlier today, sounded worse than some of the Edison cylinders I was taping! The sound has a high-pitched whine, and the music could be heard in the background, as if far away.
My "good" tape deck is a Sony TCK-400S, and I use dual decks for listening and to save wear-and-tear on the Sony. I don't always have the dual decks connected to my stereo, so I thought it would be easier to use one of those to tape from the computer, located in another room.
Does this happen to anyone else?! Does it sound like I need some new belts for my equipment?
Have a nice evening!
Mike
