A question for Matt or anyone who knows:

Been playing a 3M Blackwatch 4040 Metal tape and quite happy with it. I actually got K.J. Bleus to put the Nakamichi Marathon Tape Project onto one for me and it's about as silent as a cassette can be. And that stirred a question with in me: were there others? 3M was the parent company of Scotch, and they made quite a line of tapes from reel to cassette to 8-track at various times. So with that power behind them, was there a 3M Blackwatch 2020 Type-II tape? 3030 Type-III FeCr tape?

Anybody have any insight, or was the 4040 Metal tape a showcase achievement for this brand?

Yes on the "2020". I believe it to be similar or identical to Denon HD8. No FeCr Type II "3030" (and for that matter, no Type I "1010") that I was aware of.

Dr.Bo has some. How many is anyones guess. But he has a couple for sale here (http://cgi.ebay.com/3M-BLACKWATCH-2020-CASSETTE-TAPE-SEALED_W0QQitemZ350098938558QQihZ022QQcategoryZ149 62QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem).
