Unfortunately, 2 of the tweeters are blown. The good is they were all free *devil*
Also got a bunch of speaker cable (probably not enough to do a whole lot, but who knows). Now I need to get a crossover, subs, another power amp or two, and some mics...already got a nice snake and 9 mic booms, and a Behringer digital mixer.
Not sure why I took the MTX home....probably because it was there. Will try and give it away to someone local that might want it.

These came from my former school district. They're shutting down most of the A/V dept, and only keeping a small portable PA. The Director of Technology has let me have a whole lot, as long as I leave a portable setup usable by anyone. This is part of that whole lot. I've already hauled 4 or 5 carloads home. Not all of it came in-I gave some to a friend who wanted things and some other stuff to a local electronics retailer.
I set them up with 3 of the EV's (there were 8) that looked and sounded the best, and all the cables needed to do useful things (like connect them a useful distance from the carvin powered mixer) and took the dead ones and the couple of remaining working ones home. They let me have the Yamahas too.
Where to put them...that was fun. I cleared out part of an area in my storage unit in the basement of my apartment building for them, so I could keep them under lock and key. There's lots of other things in the basement (our unit and the unit below us share half the basement) which are not in the storage area, but they are things I am not as concerned about. Also, there's a locked door barring entrance to the building proper, and in the 5 years we've lived here there has never been a problem with theft.
If I get the subs I want, finding a place for THOSE will be difficult, as they're about 3.5-4 feet long and 2 feet high and a bit less than that wide. And they don't fit in my car. I've been getting rid of lots of excess stuff to make room for all this, and while I'll miss some of it, most of it are things that would have gone away eventually anyway. Gotta get more shelving now.

Great score. I had a pair of Yamaha stage monitors and I thought the angle and floor position have potential for good 2-channel sound. It would seem that the approximate 45 degree angle is ideal for getting rid of floor reflections so that the drivers' primary energy is not muddied. Of course, you have to stand in the "Guitar Hero" position to hear this but it is very interesting.
