Seeing the 'Let's See Your Collection' thread put the idea in my head to see how much vinyl everyone has around here.
So, post vote and let's see.
I'm between 1-5k. About 1300, taking into account recent purchases.....still waitin on some from my school and neighbor.

5900, give or take a few.
35 years of collecting will do that.

Less than 200, but more if I'd count the singles, but I didn't count them here.
I stopped buying vinyls sometime ago...

I'm somewhere over the 800 mark but it could be more, haven't counted for a while. A few crates have moved out and a few more have moved in since the last count...

That was handy. You never know when a semi will prove itself useful.

Sorry, I had forgotten about this post. I began collecting at age ten or so. I haven't gotten rid of very much. We are involved with record collector's shows but I love having these at my fingertips.
The music involved includes classical, soundtracks, early rock and roll, jazz, easy listening and much more. I was involved in all of these fields in my career and just love listening to all music of worth. We all have to make choices and there is very little country, polkas, rap etc.
Some of these recordings are collectable but some are just fun. I have trouble passing on a mint record from the past that has been either well-kept or ignored; I prefer ignored, it is in better shape!!

Im somewhere between 300-600 LPs and 50-100 45s. I keep buying more, so I have no real idea of exactly what I now have.

It's so easy to loose count unless you stay on top of it...which I surely don't.

7 Records. Quite possibly being one of the youngest people on here, I haven't had a life with much Vinyl, or even tapes. I have around 350 CD's and 500+ minidiscs though. Talk about a digital generation, sheesh. You "classic" guys (as to not bring offense) had it great. Analouge was here and gone before I had a chance to truly enjoy it.
I used to have hundreds of tapes when I was little, but our house was foreclosed and I lost everything from my childhood in storage because my parents were unable to keep up with the monthly fees. Talk about depressing :(

+1. I lost track of an exact count somewhere between 3,000 and 4,000 but incoming rate is fairly slow and predictable now that I'm just filling in the gaps (and waiting to run across that primo jazz collection at the next yard sale... *check*)

Good luck on that one but the way you score LP's it won't be long :D

I have over 200 LPs, but my problem is that I'd always find an artist that I liked and buy everything that artist did to the exclusion of variety. As my user name suggests, I have just about everything Keith Emerson ever did since his days with The Nice (I still don't have Cream of Emerson Soup), but practidally nothing from, say, Deep Purple. My classical collection prospered and is fairly comprehensive, but on CD. Now I'm getting back into vinyl again as the rest of the world is slowly doing.
The best sounding records are the old RCA Victor Living Stereo. Golden age of HiFi (ca. 1958-1962). There needs to be a statue of Lewis Layton (the recording engineer) near a park bench somewhere...
