this is NOT my auction, link provided only as reference.

This seller says if the tapes are shipped, he cannot guarentee they wont get erased, now being the thinker that I am I figured there much be a better way.

If you have ever worked for a major recording studio, and the need arises to have rare one of a kind tapes shipped, how is it usually done to be sure they are not damaged in transit. I wish I could hear these, it would be cool to hear all the studio chatter and false starts, and while we're at it, how well does this EMITAPE keep? does it have sticky shed probs? or has it held up well these particular tapes in question are about 30 years old.

Good lord, those tapes went for almost $7,000!
What were they?!

I've wondered too- any master tape sent out for mastering is rare enough and certainly one of a kind for the people who just sunk all that time and money into it. And they can only be insured for the price of the blank tape, anywhere I've tried to ship.

Leadlined boxes have got to be spendy to ship...

The best insurance may be murphy's law- if you make a backup it's almost certain you won't need it.
