Hi, I recently discovered this site from a post on Naktalk. I've been trying to find a site where other folks were crazy about cassette recording and cassette tape collecting...I think I've found it.
I've been a cassette recording enthusiast since the golden age; late 70s to mid to late 80s. I coveted the high end machines of the day but at the time could not afford them. I was perfectly happy with my two head deck but in the back of my mind I was saying some day I will have my dream machine. Twenty or so years later I have that machine, a Nakamichi Dragon as well as some others that were highly thought of in the day. I currently own 15 cassette decks mostly Nakamichi, mostly working. I have a hoard of cassettes for recording (there is never too many cassettes) and a nice start on a collection of unopened cassettes to admire.
I will post some photos as soon as I take some. I hope to become a frequent poster and to make a lot of new friends. Glad to be here.

To RATT44,
2 of the 15 decks that I have are Yamaha's KX-1200Us, one in black and one in titanium. The KX-1200U was the first three head deck that I ever owned. I loved it when I bought it in 1987 and I still love it today.

Welcome to the club!

I posted some comments on Naktalk about my Akai GX90 experience, but otherwise have been a lurker there, trying to decide whether to stick my toe in the water with a Nak deck. I've been using a Yamaha KX530 for several years, and a Harman/Kardon HK2000 for about 20 years before that. Frankly, all the maintenance and repair issues that I read about on Naktalk have me a little spooked, thinking I might be going from a used Toyota to a used Lancia or Alfa, so to speak *hypnot* Maybe you can offer a balanced assessment sometime, since you also own a Yammie. Hope you enjoy your time here!

Best regards,
Mike
