Any one using serious power in their home stereo rigs? This old beastie has active time aligned xovers with two huge frame transformers and 4 large torroids, 8 amplifiers for a total of 1350 watts RMS a channel. Note the speaker stacks. It is stored away at work now waiting for a shed party..when I build my bloody shed. PA power with stereo quality sound. This thing at less than 1/4 volume makes your trousers flap when you walk past it. Its got 4 x 80.0mm computer fans mounted for cooling but I have never seen them start. I used to use this at home but the truth of the matter was anything past the lowest volume had the same effect as ringing the local wallopers (police) and inviting them around to shout at me. The other problem manifested was the house footings were cracking and the house was trying to move next door..LOL. The guy that built this was a total nutter. He told me once that this was part one of a surround sound system he was building. He spent very little money on this all the parts were scrounged but he did know what he was doing and spent over 6 months building GODZILLA (the real one). It's a real pity this is not in daily use as it does sound very bloody good. Just need a place out of town...one day

Is that an industrial sized UPS or active line filter below the TV?

No Scorp, That is the amplifier and it's as deep as it is tall...LOL
BTW for scale the TV is a old sony 26" unit.

Its mounted on a trolley thank god. Takes a couple of healthy lads to lift it. At a guess 50-60kg. I've stored it at work for now on a pallet. We used a forklift to put it up on top of some office space.
