Among the few things that I'm extremely passionate about our dogs are right up at the top of the list.
We have 3; a female Newfoundland named Montana (AKA Boos who is 11) and 2 Great Danes. Our male Dane is named Floyd (AKA Floydie McNoodle who is 3) and our other Dane is a female named Grace (Gracie Pants who is 2).

Montana is an old girl now with fading eyesight and poor hips but here's a shot of her a few years back when she was more in her prime:

Montana again:

Floydie McNoodle. A more benevolent soul you will never meet:

NcNoodle again:

Gracie Pants at 10 weeks:

Gracie being her usual goofy spazy self:

So, that's our crew. We love them madly and can't imagine life without them.

Anyone else share their lives (and just about everything else) with dogs?

Man cannot, and should not even try, to live without a dog. They give unconditionally, never have a bad day, never have times of the month issues, and are always happy. Gotta have dogs!

Mine:

Emma, got her as a puppy in 1997, so she's 11. My bestest friend. Goes everywhere with me. Half yellow lab, half husky, 189% shedder, very very intelligent pup. Couldn't live without her. But she's getting old...

http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p141/Scorpion008/EmmaDog02-2002jpg.jpg

So we got Brandy. Half black lab, half border collie. 132% puppy, 276% stoopid. Omigawd, this dog will bowl you over to go outside, pound you with her tail in happy wagging, and needs love every .3275 seconds (pet me, please!). She's a ball of fun, but ain't that smart. She's a good dog.

Great pics and what a sweet looking group of pups. Something about the look that the olders dogs(Montana & Emma) have in there eyes that just grabs me.

We also have three pups here at the house. We have two short hair Daschunds and an old girl that we are not sure what breed she is but suspect shes a mutt.

Here are pics of the Daschunds

Mitzi Fu has a sable coat and is AKA Funer

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/ampegmang/mitzi.jpg

Mable Roo has a Dapple coat and is AKA Rooner or RudyRoo or RooDog or.....:)

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/ampegmang/Mabel.jpg

These two are a few years younger in these photos(all I have on photobucket as I'm on my new PC)but are both 5 years old and litter mates.

The old mutts name is Dusty. She showed up in the country at my folks house around 13-14 years ago. She had been abused by someone and dumped off on a gravel road. It took about 10-12 years of getting to know her before she'd let me pet her and scratch her good.

I went to my folks about two years ago a noticed she was just laying in the yard and not moving much. My folks were both to old to pick her up so I grabbed her and brought her home with me and took her to the vet. Since then she has been here at the house with us. She has that same kinda look of wizdom and love in her eyes that Montana has. I'll work on getting a picture of her up soon.

These pups ruled the roost and our hearts entirely until about 11 months ago when we brought home our beautiful, sweet little baby girl Jillian. Pups are still high priority but little Jilly is number 1. :D

It's "knowing". Older dogs just "know". What you're gonna do, what you're gonna say. They're ahead of you, because they're part of you.

Hey Jim, you sent me a pic of Emma a while ago and I just love it. Mind if I post it?

Paul: Great little dogs. Dachshunds are fun!

Broonsbane - those are wonderful pics of very huggable family members. Your values mirror mine. What camera are you using?

Scorpion - I agree - a life without animals and especially dogs - I can't contemplate it. Not worth it at all.

Here's a pic of my dearly loved 13 year old Gizmo - still full of life!!

That's a perfect name for that little guy! Superb. I've always thought that dogs name themselves, that a name just becomes obvious once you meet the dog. That looks fitting! Jim

Jessie, oor wee effervescent dug.

Shame that her hearing is going, she used to howl whenever the first few bars of "Soul Bossanova" played which used to be fairly frequently........the Nike advert, Austin Powers etc.

Partial to opera and slide guitar also.

Alright then! Here is another shot of Jim's Emma. I LOVE this picture. She looks incredibly happy bouncing around outside in the great outdoors with her people where she belongs. Sweet :)

Thank you!
I think for the shots of Montana and the puppy pic of Gracie I was using a Sony DSC-P73. All the others were taken with our Rebel XTI.

It's funny how we all give nicknames to our dogs. Don't ask me how Floyd became Floydie McNoodle but he did!
How old is Keeter?

Keeter is 8.5 years old. I have had her for 7.5 years as she was a Dobie rescue dog. For some reason I have lots of pics of her laying down but not many of her standing up.

http://home.earthlink.net/~web-police/Nak1..jpg

Her favorite activity is fishing. She will stand in the shallow water and bite at the little fish all day long if I let her.

She has been fishing for about 5 years and he has yet to catch one. When she sticks her head in the water to bite the fish, they are long gone. However the fish are stupid and they turn around and come right back to her. She will also chase them along the shore as they swim away.

She gets most of her exercise this way as I take her to a local lake almost 7 days a week all year long. She stops going in the water when it freezes up. After that she chases rabbits and squirrels all winter long till the water thaws out in March. She isn't fast enough to catch anything though, but she doesn't know that. In the 7.5 years I have had her she has caught two muskrats. If you have ever seen muskrat move out of water you will know why

jbeckva, nice dogs you have there. Yes!

We live about 200 yards from the busiest street in the area, and I don't really care for keeping dogs penned up, so I have resisted getting another dog since we lost our last one. Then, our garage got broken in to twice in August while we were home. I fenced our back yard (almost an acre) and went looking on the local CL for a free dog. I spotted this pooch in a photo, and the owners were moving, and ready to take him to the shelter where they got him. I knew he was the one, so I sent the wife and kids to go look at him. They fell in love, so he became ours. I take him for my mile walk in the fields in the morning, and after I close the warehouse in the evening (50' from my house), I let him out to chase rabbits and squirrels. The evening I took this photo, it started to rain, and he snuck in my portable office to keep dry. I snapped this photo, poor as it is.

Every house should have a dog.
I can't remember any time when we didn't have one.
'It followed me home, can we keep it?' sound familiar ?
Our present tailwagger is Australian Shepard and Chow Chow.
