If you're on the fence about buying these Mullards at Tube Depot or comparable dealers, let me give you some advice.
Buy them now!!! They're the best sounding phono stage tubes I've used, including Telefunkin's. I paid the $4 extra from Tube Depot to have them tested for noise and microphonics and these are the quietest tubes I've found.
The staging and transparency are unequaled in my Blueberry.
I've had a Hell of a time getting a quiet good sounding 12AT7, and these are them.*yikes*Big->

Second that good tip. Another excellent 12AT7 is the Brimar 6060. These have a flash Getter and sound nearly as good as the best Genelex A2900

I can second the comment on the Mullard 12AT7A definitely amongst the best sounding 'AT7 I have ever heard. American made ones all pale in comparison.. The Philips Mini-Watt ECC81/12AT7A also sounds very nice, one other very good one is the Telefunken.. (Obviously..LOL)

Hi Doug, do you mean the 6060's? I like these more than the Mullards. I use them for driver tubes in my SET amp. The only ones I like better are the GEC A2900's but they are rare and expensive. I have a pair that I found at the right price and put them away for special occasions.
The 6060's drive paralleled 7027A's in triode mode. Guitar tubes can make pretty good audio power amp tubes as well. I think there were a few American manufaturers that used 7027A's in their audio power amps.
