Hello to everyone!!!

This is my first post on this forum as I am a 2 days member only.
I'm thinking of buying a BX 5050 B II 2 if I can spot one working and at a decent price, so I was wondering if anyone can give information on ease of use, reliability, sound performance and what would be a fair price for one.
At the moment I will use it for playback of 4track reels but in the future I'm planning on recording live music also and expanding my collection of pre recorded reels to 2track, both mono and stereo.
Right now I'm using a pioneer rt 707 with very good results and since I'm new to the sport, I was wondering how much better it could get in a home system situation.

Thank you for any opinions and advices in advance.

THe BIIHD is an excellent deck. Look for the BIII if you can. It makes an excellent live recorder and transfer workhorse-where the highest quality is demanded at all times.

Hi, thanks!
Excuse my ignorance but the B2HD is the same as the BII2 or different?

The HD is somewhat similar. The BII-2 is a true balanced design where all earlier 5050's are balanced by transformer. Also the digital counter replaces a belt driven analog rotator. If going Tape Project with rewiring the heads to jacks and using outboard preamp then any of the 5050's with handle the tape the same once tuned.*reelspin*
