When I got home from work last night, there was a message on my answering machine from that tape duplication store regarding my TDK MA-60 order. "Oh, great!" I thought; there was a problem with my order, i.e. no longer in stock. They were closed by the time I got home, so I had to wait until this morning to call them.

I called them today & sure enough, they told me the box the tapes were in wasn't labeled correctly & there were only 2 TDK MA-60's in it. The guy at the store felt bad & said they did a recount of their tape inventory. He told me they have 55 TDK MA-X 90's he could let me have at the same price per tape as the MA-60's. Needless to say, I told him I'd buy them all!

Pretty good way to start a Friday!

Ok this bites. I never find deals on any really good tapes. Best I could come up with today was at the Bibles for Missions store was a dozen low end blanks for about $9. Not a bad deal, but the tapes were nothing special. Just some TDK D, Memorex DB, and BASF Ferro I.

All I can say is Nad- I would like first dibs on a box of 10 of the MA-X 90 tapes if you will sell that many to me.

I've found the best way to locate some of these tape deals is to just type in a make of tape (TDK SA 60, Maxell XLII-S, etc...) in Google & you'll be suprised what comes up. I found these TDK MA-X's by typing in "TDK SA 60", which brought me to that tape duplicator's website where they were selling late 80's TDK SA-60s on closeout. I looked at their other tapes on closeout & viola! The motherload! They took down those TDK SA's, though, or else I'd post the link.

A couple weeks ago I found that box of Scotch XSII on some website that sells contents of abandoned storage units. That was a bargain that will never, ever happen again; $7 for a sealed 10ct. box. Amazing.

I found those TDK Pro Media SM 60 for $7.50/box @ A To Z Audio by typing in a search for J-card inserts.
