Rat Shack Tape - Whaaaa??? Wow!

My ears tell me I've scored, but my brain says no-way...

I just got in 4 MP-X (Metal) blanks branded by (yes, really) Radio Shack. At least with my Yamaha, they do better than TDK MA-X (not the XG's... I don't have any of those so can't comment), SA-X and XL II's.

Very accurate and defined on both low and high ends. Seems like one of those "sleepers" people will pass up on... not too shabby! I wonder who really made them for RS?

The guy I got them from also threw in a big surprise! One of those Teac CRC90's with the gold metal reels. That was really a cool gesture - told him to head this way if he wants to meet up with some more audio nutz.

Ive always had fond feelings for the store Radio Shack and I don't mind buying the odd thing from it (when we did have their stores here in Canada that is). This has included their tapes and I have a small collection of them here. I have found they work as good as any other tape really, so I don't think they are bad to get.

The SHD type II tapes they sold in the late 90's-early 2000's were pretty good tapes. Wish I had bought more of them.
